Louisiana Beer Reviews: Founders Centennial IPA
This was one of my absolute favorite beers. Me and brother both loved it but you had to be cautious drinking too many in a sitting at 5.7 abv. I don’t remember it being around for long here in Texas so I’m guessing they stopped shipping it sometime around this video being published. Me and brother still talk about this beer from time to time and probably will for the rest of our lives.
Rainy day! 😝… that beer is pretty decent. I’ve had that a few times… good score! Cheers jay 🍻
Man, I can’t drink bankers club anything. There is just something that doesn’t taste clean about it. It is way too rough across the pallet and if you try to mix it with stuff, it just tastes worse. I’ve been a big fan of Captain Morgan, spiced rum For a long time. Love Captain Morgan products. They’re 100 black label, their white rum, spice drum, all very good to sip on. However, lately I’ve been purchasing the Don Q private reserve Puerto Rican rum. It can be bought for about $30 up here in Pennsylvania. Comes in a very nice elegant looking glass bottle with a stopper. Has a very refined and smooth flavor that is good for sipping and with a splash of Coke or Pepsi.
Now that is some good back patio beer drinking weather!!!
One of your older videos but enjoying this tonight @ The Bier Garden - beer bar & German theme restaurant Portsmouth, VA - pint night … order the beer & get matching pint glass. Solid Helles but let me tell you… about 2016 at killer beer store Shangy’s in eastern PA … they had Stiegl Pils when I visited 1st time ever. Picked up on a whim and it was AWESOME. Doubt ever see again but that stuff A++ … vs this Goldbrau lager a B+ Maybe for me. Still a good beer, on draft & Stiegl glass to keep - not a bad arrangement.
A very good ale review, on a rainy day. Like the Tamba Bay duds, Cheers !
Thanks, Ron! Cheers, back to you!
I really enjoy this beer. I’ve only had it a handful of times in my lifetime because it’s so difficult to find…at least up in Massachusetts. It wasn’t too popular in Georgia, either. I could only find it at Super H, an Asian market in the greater Atlanta area. Also, I would try Lindburger cheese. I like strong cheeses. Cheers!
Yeah, it's not exactly common in Louisiana, either. Limberger- I could not get anyone else to go along with me on it. Oh, well.
Does it taste anything like the Original Michalob, which i miss dearly. Thanks....and why do you think they stopped producing the Original?
No, not really, and they did NOT stop producing Michelob Original Lager, but with the pathetic amount brewed, each year, they may as well cut it. Thanks for watching, Fidel Torres. I appreciate it!
Cheers Ron 🍻
Cheers, back to you, Secrazo!
My favorite Bell's beer is Hopslam.
I like that one, but it's been a good while since I've seen it, in Louisiana.
I'm aware of the brewery, can't say I have tried any of their beer, also just wanted to say your grass is looking lush and green👍
You might like their stuff. And, thanks!
Just had one last night 😅
Really. And, darker?
@@ronaldtheriot yep, darker red mahogany. maybe it’s the lighting.
You forgot the new New Belgium Fat Tire Ale in your list of bland flagship beers. And in addition, how it pulls off the “great” feat of being even more bland than their original bland, discontinued flagship amber ale, Fat Tire.
Oh, right. Good observation, there.
Such a great beer, if you want to feel slightly "fancier" than when drinking MHL or Bud as you mentioned lol, fun review.
Right! Ha-ha!
Two Hearted Ale was my go-to beer for over a decade. Always bought it in 12-pack cans. After Larry sold the company a few years ago, I haven't been able to find it anywhere in my location.
Really! That's shocking! Sorry. Thanks for watching, Alley Stang. I appreciate it!
I feel like David got sent to the principle's office a lot for disrupting class as a kid lol. That fish beer is quite common here in SC, I guess I'll pick up a 19.2oz can now.
That's a strong probability. I do NOT think we can get those 19.2oz., stovepipe cans, here. On the other hand, I might be wrong.
Great point point at total Wine I bought a natural light 30 pack that had just expired and they were still selling it. It was the only natural light 30 pack left so I’ve ended up buying it and later found out it was expired.
Like the rain, we could use some in Denver, Great review!
I hope y'all get some! Thanks!
Love the retro Devil Rays outfit! I have never heard of this beer 🍺. Awesome review as always! Cheers 🍻
Thanks, and I bought it when it was NOT retro. Cheers, back to you!
It's alright... Just got back from Nürnberg... Sadly I couldn't go to the nearby town of Bamberg, famous for their old Schlenkerla brewery. Maybe you've tried their Rauchbier or smoked beer. But their Rotbier is supposedly amazing too! 😎
Yes, I have reviewed their smoked beers. Thanks for watching, MANASYt. I appreciate it!
Oberon is trash... sorry
Trash- that's a strong position. Yes, I like Two Hearted.
@@ronaldtheriot just my opinion, cheers
I guess I just don't like wheat
Jus drank a 6 pack of these one of my favorite beers ❤i mainly drink gueniss extra stout bells two hearted ale george killians smirinoff scrw driver ice smashs , and twisted tea raspberry and regualr
It's pretty much disappeared, from Louisiana. Thanks for watching, Caseville Country Boy. I appreciate it!
Just picked this up! Having it now
I'm glad you got to try it.
Probably last time but I like to try it’s not my bag; I’m more of a 8.No drinker now. 47 yrs old it just doesn’t fit into my health schedule.
Thanks so much for doing this platform, it means more than you know. YOU ROCK :))))
You're welcome, and thanks for your support!
I JUST BOUGHT A 24 FL OUNCE CAN . I LIVE IN LOS ANGELES (COMPTON). AND SURE TASTE THE SAME FROM THE IRWINDALE, CA SIDE . I USED TO DRINK COLT 45 AND MILLER HIGH LIFE 40 OUNCE BOTTLES FOR A GOOD 2 YEARS BEFORE I SWITCHED TO I.P.A S ONLY .
THANKS FOR WATCHING. I APPRECIATE IT.
I've been meaning to try Coors Banquet since it seems to be liked by so many. Just bought a 24 pack of cans on rebate for $15.99 (plus taxes of course). I've had many a Coors Light so this will be interesting to try!
I hope you enjoy it.
Ronald, do you remember what the longest amount of time (approximately) it’s taken you to finish a bottle of liquor and did it lose much of its flavor? I have a couple of bottles of scotch that have been opened for around 4 years. Thanks for all the great content!
I don't know, but it may have been five or six years, D. From Cool. I don't think that ANY of them lost flavor, but I think the flavor seemed to change, for ALL of them. You're welcome, and thank you for your support!
@@ronaldtheriotthanks Ronald! I’ll give the bottles a try
@@dfromcool You're welcome, and I hope you like it.
Hello llr abortion stops a beating heart
Hello, Tommy, and it sure does do that.
This performance right here is why I had to unsubscribe. Not enjoyable what-so-ever to watch and listen to. I still don't get it.
I'm sorry to hear this, Jason, and I wish you had not unsubscribed.
Did you ever record a solo review, for the W-D Scotch?
Yes, I did, and it should be posted, by now. If not, it's coming, soon.
Count me in as Heineken fan as far as generic, widely available gas station beers go. Nothing exquisite mind you but tasty enough every day lager. Easily better than mainstream AAL's and personally speaking I prefer to some other Euro's too including Stella & probably Carlsberg too. As to the bottle size thing ... not a matter if they "can" do it like Spaten ... but why should they take on the additional cost + associated complications to modify production lines for USA market only? Can't say i blame them or have problem with it.
It's a good question, but some of the companies, such as Spaten and Heineken, seem to do it, with little trouble. Thanks for the good comments.
@@ronaldtheriot There are costs + added complications to put out different size bottle for USA market only vs. what they pumping out for everybody else. Same reason they send us 500 ml cans vs American standard 16 oz. From a business & practicality standpoint makes sense to send us the same 330 ml bottles that everyone else is getting.
@@douglasroethlin3839 I suppose that is so.
Neat buffalo trace history facts! Never heard of Taca. Taka? RJT the number cruncher. Sometimes we come back around to flavors!
Taaka, is the name. Yes, the number cruncher, who does eventually get to flavor. Thanks for watching, Nutmeg 2 Palmetto. I appreciate it!
Kamchatka is the perfect "quality" for a mixer
Yes, I think so.
cheers cheers
Cheers, back to you! Thanks for watching, Philo Taaveti. I appreciate it!
Great review as always Ronald. My experience with Yuengling has been mixed. I can never figure out whether it's me or the beer, but sometimes I'm just not impressed, and other times it's pretty good. It's readily available here in Georgia and very affordable. I've got a 24 ounce can of the traditional lager right now and it's very good. Who knows. Maybe they improved their formula, but this is a very nice beer, flavorful, refreshing, and well-balanced. Laissez les bons temps rouler! ⚜🍺🍻
I like this beer, John, but I don't adore it. I might revisit it, soon.
97 for Heineken, Dave badly needs a Döner Kebab(turkish/german street food) after that he will come to the conclusion that a Taco Al Pastor(mexican streetfood similar to Döner) isn't that bad and that Fajitas isn't the only thing mexican cousine has to offer and maybe that a Grolsch is 10 times better than any Heineken^^ 97 ... i last drunk this in the Netherlands 18years ago, never again because much better options Had to google this Ounces thing 11,2 is 033ml and 12 is 0,35ml... i don't like both sizes 0,5ml(google calculator says 16,9 Ounces?!) is king for a beer
Yes, that is correct- 500ml is 16.9 ounces. Our typical big cans are 16.0 ounces.
Thanks for the Hobo beer! Hope you don’t mind me using that one. It’s a classic
You're welcome, and feel free to use. Thanks for watching, Matt Harris. I appreciate it!
Maybe I missed it, but do you prefer this one or Especial? Another great review!
Definitely, this one,
I don’t hate Heineken, I've even tried to like it, but every time I break down and get one, it smells and tastes skunky 🤷🏼♂️
Really. Well, you may as well avoid it, in that case.
Love the duo reviews, you guys have it going! Probably decades since I've had a Heineken, probably because of my old perception that it's skunky. I'll pick up one of the larger single cans I see and give it a shot based on your grades here!
Never had a Heine that wasn't.
Nah, I have almost NEVER run across a skunky Heineken, but that's my experience.
VS- Very special VSOP- very superior old pale I thought this was the acronym . I’m curious how E & J XO would compare in your taste tests.? I’ve tried it a few times and it seems to be pretty good stuff.
Yes, you're right, but I was just saying that "Very Standard" might be a more accurate name for VS. I think E&J XO is great, and I'd never turn it down. I've reviewed it!
It wouldn't be my brother Dave it would be me drinking it. I like Very Old Barton 🥃🥃. Good review gentlemen 👍🏾😁
Ha-ha. I like Very Old Barton, too, Jean. Thanks, and I appreciate you watching!
I enjoyed this DIPA for the first time this evening. It is not my favorite offering from TJ's, but it is another winner from them for sure!
I agree with you.
I love your duo reviews! I think heineken tastes way better in Europe than it does in the US.
Thanks! It does?
You're right, Michelob Lager can go toe to toe with Heineken and it was quite a bit cheaper but alas its gone.
It's not technically gone, but it's practically gone, for most of us.
Can only get them in a 24 pack suitcase where I'm from. Its $12.99 and in my opinion better than all macro beers available in its category. Genesee is my close second and its $16.99 for 30.
We definitely can NOT get any Genesee brand beers, in Louisiana. Thanks for watching, Never Relax. I appreciate it!
Ahahahaha! Yeah! AWESOME Review!
Thanks, Wayne!
This is my favorite whiskey ! Better than Crown ! Thanks for the review. 9:33
I might agree with that. You're welcome, and thanks for watching, Chrissy Cold. I appreciate it!
What I have to say about Dave nice face hair .
Okay. Thanks, again, for watching.
Can only find the 15 packs near me, $9.99.
Really. We do NOT get those, here.
Ok, you guys convinced me to buy Heineken tomorrow, even though i believe COLT 45 MALT LIQUOR has a similar hop (little off) and malty taste (per my palate) but in the end though you can never go wrong with a Heineken, but not a 97 score Dave? I mean a King Kobra Malt Liquor would kick a Heineken off the scale in a blind taste test :)))) Nonetheless, you both make me smile and laugh and that's what people need these days. Be blessed :))))
Thanks, and blessing, back to you.
